As a way of thanking you for the many successful projects we have realized together, we want to be close to you in order to provide you with even better services.  So we opened new branch offices.

At the turn of the millennium in 2000: an office in the German capital.

2005: a branch in Munich

2008: a new location in Hamburg and, at the same time, one in Frankfurt.

Obviously, our regional teams are entirely familiar with the local codes, requirements and markets.  Their well-founded technical expertise, their many years of experience in your region put them in a position to provide you with bespoke fire protection solutions for all your construction projects.  By being closer to you, we can address your needs and requirements in a more targeted way, assisting you more promptly and directly.

On these pages, we will be introducing the people who make fire protection and life safety happen – in other words, the persons leading hhpberlin into the next generation.

Our company is headed by a dynamic team whose members ideally complement each other by their mix of unconventional ideas and many years of experience.

Margot Ehrlicher has been heading our engineering firm for ten years now.  Since 2008, Stefan Truthän and Karsten Foth have joined her as managing shareholders.

Prof. Dietmar Hosser and Dr. Karl-Heinz Schubert as members of the advisory board act as the sounding boards of the three heads of hhpberlin.

So now you’ve met the people at the helm.

But of course, hhpberlin is much more!  Around 80 specialists, young and more senior, innovative and experienced, are taking fire protection to the next generation, and dealing with your fire protection issues every day.  And that with the true passion of those who want to deliver nothing but excellence.  You as our clients will profit from our special working methods.  Our young, creative staff just starting out in their careers have been trained based on the most recent scientific results, and they are full of unconventional ideas.

And in spite of all that, you have only one personal contact for your project.  Someone who will be glad to help you at any time, regardless of which phase your project is in.  Your fire protection project manager will keep all information and organizational know-how required for your project in hand – from the preliminary planning phase to construction.  And should the branch office working with you require a specialist this particular location doesn’t have, your project manager will call in someone from one of the other branches.  Our unique network means that all of our expertise is available to you wherever you may be.

Is that your image: scientists laboring alone in their small, isolated chambers, never to see the light of day?

Wrong picture!  Our research is done in other places as well, not only in our offices.  We share our insights with the public and actively seek to exchange our views with other researchers.  We are convinced that any science will develop only if specialists and researchers stimulate each other with their ideas, develop new experiments and thus pioneer new findings.  Only in this way can we provide you – the architects, planners and builder-owners – with the most up-to-date, high-quality and cost-efficient solutions for your fire protection and life safety needs.

We maintain a lively exchange of ideas and close ties to various different institutions.  First and foremost, this is the Institut für Baustoffe, Massivbau und Brandschutz (Institute for Construction Materials, Solid Structures and Fire Safety) of the Technical University of Braunschweig.  It is the largest institution of its kind in Europe and is headed by the member of our advisory board, Prof. Dietmar Hosser.

We are also regularly in close personal contact with the institutes for materials research and testing in Leipzig and Braunschweig and with the Technische Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences) in Berlin.

In conferences, at seminars and other events, you will be sure to meet one of us.  Thus, we regularly present our experience and research results at the Deutsche Brandschutztage (German Fire Safety Conference) in Braunschweig.

Against this backdrop, a very active network has arisen the members of which inform each other of most recent developments and jointly develop visions for the future – and realize them.  This is how we manage to bridge the gap between science and its practical application, filling intellectual insights with life.
